Watergate Scandal The Watergate scandal was a 1972 splinter-in at the Democratic natural Committee headquarters at the Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. by members of Richard Nixons governing and the resulting spinal column-up which led to the resignation of the President. A number of them were from the plumbers unit of measurement, originally set up to plug leaks, and some of them were originator members of the CIA.
